A note from the President of Mountain View Shores Association
Another year has passed and we’ve survived a tornadic Microburst and a somewhat gentle winter all cloaked with the Corona Virus … and yet, Nature remains beautifully in control …
Hoping all residents/members of Mountain View Shores Association are enjoying all that Nature provides. It was good to see many of you, and welcome new members, that attended the Mountain View Shores Association annual meeting at the Beach on July 25th. As usual, there was spirited discussions, debates, motions, voting and general concerns relative to the operations and health of our organization. The meeting format seemed a bit “choppy” as we are “settling into” the newly written and adopted By-Laws and Covenants – but as with anything new, we made our way through the process and remain dedicated to following the guidelines. You will note motions and voting issues in the minutes as provided with this mailing.
There were two new major issues that “stood out” at the meeting; the creation of a Webpage for the Association which would be designed by the members of the Association and overseen by a member of the Board of Directors. It’s design and content are dedicated to the structure of our organization. The ongoing “happenings” and a question and answer section relating to the specifics, yet general issues relative to the Association. We are extremely optimistic that this format will allow for a “consistency” in understanding and guidance for the organization – now and in the future.
The second issue, which was approved via motion and vote of the membership was to allow to have the Board of Directors oversee the “Timber Harvest” on a five acre parcel owned by the Association. The operation will be directed by, and overseen by a state licensed Forester, acting as a consultant to the Association and working with the tree cutters to assure that the tree harvest would be in such a manner to promote the continued health and well being of our shared property. I anticipate both the described issues will be implemented in this fiscal year.
Another note: the Mountain View Shores Corporation’s fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30 of each calendar year. It was approved through majority vote that the Association would change the billing date of the $100.00 annual dues. The billing will be submitted for payment in the month of July versus Febraury. Therefore the 2020/2021 dues is being submitted for payment at this time for the new 2020/2021 fiscal year.. no billing will take place in February. Whereas most of the Association’s expenses come due during the winter months, it was deemed appropriate to bill and collect in the summer to “prepare” for any expenses that occur throughout the winter and remaining fiscal year.
Next year’s meeting will be on July 31, 2021 at the Beach. I look forward to seeing you and talking with you all in a “Non Covid” environment.
Wishing you and your family well and an enjoyable time in our Mountain View Shores community.
Ron Cotner, President, Mountain View Shores Association, Corporation
