November 2021
Well, change is all around us . . . seasons are ushering in new colors, shorter days and a lot cooler temperatures. Horn Pond has been lowered to its winter level and the ducks and geese are practicing their inherent flight patterns. The loons seemed to have left for better hunting waters and the eagles are flying about looking for prey.
Many residents have already left and closed their camps/homes due to the change in seasons and they have changed their focus to “huddle” at home or go to a warmer climate while they prepare for winter while looking forward to another spring and summer on Horn Pond.
Speaking of change, we have a new member on our Board of Directors; Kelly Sewell. I want to thank Peter Baxter for his contributions over his tenure and anticipate that he will continue sharing his direction and wisdom in the future. Karen Gellatly has assumed the position of Secretary and Deb Dunnells has been approved as the Associations’ Treasurer.
Our annual Meeting garnered an attendance of 23 Association members. It is always good to see friends and neighbors coming together to promote the “wellbeing” of the Mountain View Shores community and Corporation. A variety of topics were presented and discussed with motions being made and members voting to approv3e or change the status quo . . . yet maintaining the integrity of our Association and its wellbeing for today and its future. I don’t intend to go over the specifics of the meeting since the minutes of the July 31, 2021 meeting are available on this website for your review along with the financial reports and other related topics.
We’re all looking forward to another season where we can see each other again . . . if only from a passing boat or kayak. I wish you all well and I look forward to another year as part of the Mountain View Shores Association and Horn Pond residents.
Thank you again for your continued support of the Association, its Corporate Officers and the Board of Directors. I continue to look forward to serving the needs and best interests of our community.
Respectfully submitted,
Ron Cotner
President, Mountain View Shores Association
